RIP Jazz

Got a call from the family this morning telling about how Jazz died as everyone was getting ready. She was the oldest Siberian Husky that was ever a part of the family. 15 years, 2 months, and 5 days old. What a way to start the week. I’m going to miss that little ball of joy.

I know its hasn’t been personal lately.

I haven’t made that many personal posts as of late. This is mainly due to trying to: a) Connect my LJ blog to my evoflux site blog which is suppose to be possible due to the flexible nature of Expression Engine (my CMS). b) Code in the ability to have private posts on my home site as well. Yeah, I could just port over the posts from LJ, but I’m a bit OCD on using just one system that can be cross-platform. On a geeky note I found out I can use asp.net and Ruby on Rails with my current site setup. Decisions, decisions….

One may ask themselves, “Why on earth would he want to make private posts?” For most of us it is obvious. For the remainder (though I don’t know if they’re currently the majority or minority) privacy is dear and important. Unless you’re walking the earth like Kain in Kung-Fu we’re all on the grid and completely trackable. That thought is troublesome. Keep what you can private. We’re already sharing too much information without realizing it.

Well that is about it. It’ll get personal once I get those worked out. Cheers.

What happens to friends and family way over there

Over the weekend my sister and good friend were in L.A. at a party being thrown (at Will’s place) when Universal Studios caught fire. They were lucky to be close enough to watch the entire thing from the roof of Will’s place.

Pro: drinking to oblivion with good friends.
Con: Apparently a movie studio smells like burning plastic while wailing in an inferno.
Pro: Me being here and them there so-as I don’t have my OCD kick into cleaning high gear the next morning

I really should just relocate out there. There is no way in hell I’ll stay away from the Lone Star as my main home for too long though.
