Mike Rowe, the host of the Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs, explains a workout called a burpie he learned by reading an article about a guy who did them in jail. A burpie is almost a full body exercise all in it’s own and only takes about 5 minutes to do a complete session. It’s funny where most of our information comes from.
Thanks to this BBC article it is now pointed out that exercise can slow aging. I know the scientific method requires constant reinforcement, but it seems to be point out the obvious. Oh well, at least we have data against the nay-sayers now. I need more coffee.
Running on a regular basis can slow the effects of ageing, a study by US researchers shows.
Elderly joggers were half as likely to die prematurely from conditions like cancer than non-runners.
They also enjoyed a healthier life with fewer disabilities, the Stanford University Medical Center team found.
