5 years ago Michelin released a picture of a prototype type tire that didn’t require air pressure. . Apparently it took that time to work out the bugs because they just had a press conference officially releasing the Tweel.
The Wired Blog recently had an entry that was an eye opener about using the musical educational songs of The Animaniacs to teach children. I for one was a high schooler at the time when the show was popular, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. Hell I even memorized many facts at the time because of it.
Every now and then I remember how much I miss Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I was a huge fan of Animaniacs, and, while my favorite segment was “Pinky and the Brain,” there are some segments with the Warner brothers and the Warner sister that I still love. It hadn’t occurred to me until the other day to look for the educational songs they did on the show on YouTube so I could show them to my kids….
From the office of strange and neat science facts here is an interesting one. Cannonballs can float in mercury. Thank you BBC for showing this one off.
Since the local circle of friends are getting more into cycling (congrats on the bike purchase Chuckles) its time to start posting more of the interests in the adventures we could have. When it comes to mounting a camera on a bike the point is obviously about the documentation of these said adventures. Photojojo has an awesome step-by-step how to when it comes to doing this project and I’m all aboard trying. Check it out.
I wouldn’t post it if I didn’t like it. The Autokratz’s ‘Stay the Same’ gives me the same grin that Justice’s ‘D.A.N.C.E.’ spreads across my face ear-to-ear. That is accompanied with this eye candy video. Bliss, I tell you. Bliss!
Tucked inside this little robot is an MP3 player with which is the core of its storytelling sensation. The Murasaki-bot was designed by the kids at the Kyoto University’s Robo-Garage and ‘will read you Murasaki Shikibu’s classic and oft-considered oldest novel in existence, The Tale of Genji.’ It was also designed to make subtle movements along with the storytelling like the noblewoman Murasaki would have made well conveying the tale.
There is nothing quite like the future being upon us as robots creeping their way into every notch of life.
Apologies for not posting more regularily. The job hunt has taken me to Houston where I’ve been busy. Here is something to distract you from this though!
George Carlin kicks the bucket at 71. He pushed the envelope in ways that other comedians were too afraid to. Lets have a moment to regard this situation in the only way to give good memory.
A very impressive mix of typography body painting and video display. Its described as “part of a campaign to promote writing on designated graffiti walls rather than someone elses property.”
