Running Slows the Aging Process

Thanks to this BBC article it is now pointed out that exercise can slow aging. I know the scientific method requires constant reinforcement, but it seems to be point out the obvious. Oh well, at least we have data against the nay-sayers now. I need more coffee.

Running on a regular basis can slow the effects of ageing, a study by US researchers shows.

Elderly joggers were half as likely to die prematurely from conditions like cancer than non-runners.

They also enjoyed a healthier life with fewer disabilities, the Stanford University Medical Center team found.

It may slow aging, but it will beat up your knees in the long haul. I prefer the elliptical machine or swimming in my workout routine to minimize the impact and stress on my joints.
